Scientific Identity

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Scientific Identity platform (sci-id.com), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not register or use the service.

2. Eligibility, Registration & Account Security

• Accurate Information: You must provide a valid and active email address owned by you during registration.
• Credential Security: A cryptographically secure temporary password is generated and sent to your registered email. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account. Changing your temporary password upon first login is strongly recommended.
• One Account Per User: Each researcher/user is permitted one individual academic account unless explicitly authorized by platform administration.

3. Subscription Plans, Quotas & Expiration Policy

• Default Registration Tier: Every new account is automatically granted a 1-Year Complimentary Subscription under the Default Plan (Bronze).
• Resource Quotas: Each tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Business) defines specific limits for Gallery items, Experience entries, Education records, Research papers, and Marketplace products.
• Subscription Expiration: Upon expiration without renewal, the account automatically reverts to Default (Bronze) quotas for public visibility, and adding new entries is paused until renewed or upgraded.
• Zero Data Loss Guarantee: Items exceeding your active plan limit are hidden from public visitors but are never deleted. All data remains safely stored and editable in your dashboard, automatically reappearing upon renewal or upgrade.

4. Intellectual Property & Academic Integrity

• Ownership: You retain full copyright and intellectual property rights to all research, papers, biographies, and media uploaded to your profile.
• Platform License: You grant Scientific Identity a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, format, and display your public profile data.
• Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to upload or publish content that:
  • Infringes upon third-party copyrights, patents, or trademarks.
  • Contains academic plagiarism, fraudulent claims, or defamatory statements.
  • Contains viruses, malicious scripts, or security threats.
  • Exceeds specified upload limits (max 1MB per image).

5. Marketplace & Product Listings

• Author Responsibility: Users represent that they possess full legal authorization to showcase and distribute products, tools, datasets, or publications.
• Direct Showcase: Scientific Identity serves as a showcase platform and is not a party to external commercial contracts between members and third-party buyers.
• Disclaimer: Scientific Identity is not responsible for the content or quality of items listed by their respective owners.

6. Public Profile & Privacy

• Secure Shareable Link: Each account is assigned a unique UUID (share_uuid) allowing safe public profile sharing.
• Public vs. Private Scope: Data in profile fields is publicly visible, whereas credentials, internal IDs, and quota-hidden records remain strictly private.

7. Account Suspension & Termination

• Administrative Rights: The platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, commit academic fraud, or attempt security breaches.
• Voluntary Deletion: Users may request complete deletion of their account and data at any time via technical support.

8. Limitation of Liability

Services are provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind. The platform is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from maintenance downtime or unforeseen technical interruptions.

9. Modifications to Terms

Scientific Identity reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes binding acceptance of revised terms.
